The global economic downturn and ongoing political turmoil have influenced MICE industry operators to seek ways to minimize operational costs while satisfying the market needs and maintaining event vitality. Many organizations are growing increasingly aware of the environmental consequences of their activities. Adopting a Green concept, many MICE operators are applying a ?Reduce, Reuse and Recycle? element to their operations. |
 |
Findings from various sources suggest that the MICE industry?s environmental concerns have increased considerably. To address these concerns, Green Meeting guidelines/ principles are being produced worldwide, including in Thailand (www.greenmeetingsthailand.com). Actions have been taken, the effectiveness of which is being measured through various methods by an increasing number of MICE operators, some of whom have been certified by EC3 Global, an internationally recognized environmental management and certification company. A list of certified companies in Thailand, together with details of their achievements, initiatives and various Green practices, can be found in the full MICE report. |
